Dear Lybrateuser, - It is good to know that you have quit smoking as it is the ain factor which affects ones health & well being - lead a healthy lifestyle which will help reverse all your harmful effects & changes because of smoking earlier - a healthy lifestyle consists of the following: - consume a well balanced diet with more of fruits, vegetables, whole grains instead of refined ones like whole wheat chapati, brown rice, oats, corn, protein rich foods such as eggs, non veg, milk & milk products like yogurt, cottage cheese, butter milk, beans, lentils, pulses, sprouts, peas, nuts such as almonds, walnuts, pista, cashews, peanuts, healthy fats as in olive, canola & sunflower oil, fish, nuts, avocados & seeds such as flax & chia seeds - include protein food & a fat containing food in each of your meals & also have as a snack in between meals - have plenty of oral fluids including 8-10 glasses of water to wash off the toxins from the body - do regular exercise like jogging, swimming, play an outdoor game, do moderate weight weight lifting for 10-15 min twice a week to build your body & stamina - sleep well for at least 7-8 hrs at night, keep your sleep & wake up time fixed - destress by listening to music or by doing yoga, meditation & deep breathing or by following a hobby - a healthy lifestyle will lead to a strong immunity & protect you from various infections & diseases in future.
