A surgical technique, septoplasty is carried out to fix structural deformity of the nasal septum. Certain precautions like limited intake of food and water and limiting the use of medications like aspirin are observed before surgery. It is an outpatient surgery carried out under anesthesia. The surgery carries certain risks like scarring, bleeding, impaired sense of smell and discoloration of the nose.
HOW IS SEPTOPLASTY DIAGNOSED?
Swelling and drainage can occur a few days after the surgery.
