Dear Lybrateuser, - Low energy may not be due to cholesterol, it could be due to other factors such as improper diet, sleep, lack of exercise, low hemoglobin, hormonal disbalance - to keep cholesterol in check follow some dietary precautions: - avoid, fried, processed & junk foods, also foods containing trans & saturated fats, sugars & salty snacks, avoid alcohol & smoking if you do - have more of fruits, vegetables, whole grains instead of refined ones, legumes, a handful of unsalted mixed nuts such as almonds, walnuts, pista, cashews, peanuts, soya products, consume low fat milk, heart healthy fats such as olive & canola oil for cooking, fish such as salmon, mackeral, tuna, avocados, nuts, flax & chia seeds - do regular exercise like jogging, swimming, cycling, moderate weight lifting for 10-15 min twice a week, also regularly do yoga, meditation & deep breathing for 15-20 min daily morning - reduce weight if overweight - if reading doesn't come down in 2-3 months then medication may be required to reduce cholesterol level.
