I have hypertension 140/95. If I do cycling regularly and if I take regular tablets, will it be controlled cholesterol: 240. I am doing night shifts so I sleep by 1 am daily.

Dear Lybrateuser, -Control your bp & cholesterol with diet & regular exercise, also proper sleep & keeping stress to the minimum - have a salt restricted diet, avoid fried, processed & junk foods, also pickles, papads & salty snacks, also restrict tea, coffee to 1-2 cups per day - have more of fibre containing foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains instead of refined ones, legumes, sprouts, daily a handful of mixed unsalted nuts, heart healthy fats as in fish such as salmon, tuna, mackeral, nuts, olive, canola or sunflower oil for cooking, avocados, flax & chia seeds - do regular exercise like brisk walking, jogging or cycling daily for 20-30 min - sleep well for at least 7-8 hrs daily - destress by listening to light music, reading or by doing yoga, meditation & deep breathing for 10-15 min daily - the above measures will help lower your bp as well as cholesterol along with the medicines.
