Lifestyle modifications such as brisk walking for 45 minutes a day atleast 5 days a week, reducing weight and try to keep bmi (body mass index below 23) 1 kg weight loss will decrease blood pressure by 1 mm hg. Avoid smoking and if alcoholic then consume in moderation. Decrease salt intake. Follow dash diet (dietary approaches to stop hypertension) that is include fish, egg,milk, fruits and vegetables in the diet. Fruits rich in potassium such as banana, orange,guava, avocado.
