You have to monitor the dose by regular estimation of tsh. Side effects are ususually found in patients who donot monotor tsh level in blood and they are either excess dose or low dose. Excess dose of thyronorm may cause palpitation, excessive sweatin, trembling of hands, frequent diarrhoea, excessive hunger, weight loss, irritability, intolarance to heat etc. Low dose can cause symptoms of hypothyroid like intolerance to cold, weakness, letharginess, weight gain, constipation, hair fall, menstrual irragulaity and scanty menses in female.

lybrate-user, Madam when a person has confirmed clinical hypothyroidism with tsh being above 10 mu/l, there is a need for taking treatment with appropriate dosage of levothyroxine, that for lifetime. Stopping the treatment abruptly will lead to severe symptoms of hypothyroidism. Tsh levels will go up abnormally high. There can be problems with monthly menstrual cycle, there may be irregular or excessive bleeding, if pregnancy is desired, that may not happen. There will be dry hair and skin, plus hair loss, weight increase, slow heart rate, tiredness and early fatigue. Thanks.
