This feeling seems to be due to throat congestion and has nothing yo do with hypothroid. Do warm saline gargles 2-3 times a day for 3 days. You will be alright otherwise consult a doctor nearby.

Dear lybrate-user, I note that you were found to have mild hyothyroidism on routine screening before donating your kidney. I guess your tsh would have been around 6-10 and you were started on 25-50 ug of thyroxine. This is likely to be subclinical hypothyroidism. If your initial tsh was just above normal range and your t4 and t3 or free t4 and free t3 were normal at the time of diagnosis, the condition is called subclinical hypothyroidism. This may remain like this for several months to years before progressing to overt hypothyroidism. Treatment is required only when overt hypothyroidism occurs, and at that time t4 or free t4 will be low and tsh usually > 10 uiu/ml this is the time to start thyroxine. At present I feel you can stop the drug and monitor free t4 and tsh after 6 months. At that time check tpo antibodies also and get back to us let us know whether you have any swelling over the lower part of the neck in front regards
