lybrate-user ji, thanks for the query. I have seen the details mentioned. Usually when one is on adequate dosage of levothyroxine (based on t4, tsh, age, weight & height), tsh is maintained around 3 to 4 mu/l, at which all the symptoms of hypothyroidism are fully in control. Since your tsh is much higher, it is obvious that current dosage is not enough. There is a need to increase it to at least 50 mcg per day. Then check the thyroid profile after 6 weeks to see if desired levels are achieved. Please remember hypothyroidism treatment has to be continued for lifetime. You can not stop the tablet, so please follow the instructions. Plus I am sure you are aware that the tablets need to be taken early morning on empty stomach and nothing to be taken for at least 1 hour after. Plus you will have to avoid using soy beans and soy containing foods. Also avoid bakery items, deep fried foods, red meat and junk food as well as foods made from maida. Regular exercise of 1 hour a day is also a must. If you have any questions please do come back. Thanks.

That is a very minor increase. Do not change the dosage.
