I am a diabetes since last 22 years my age is 65 I take metformin 750 + glimepiride 2 +voglibose 0.2 +diabecon ds 1 each in breakfast and vildagliptin 50+ metformin 500 + diabecon ds 1 each at dinner but my average sugar is 110 fasting and 190 pp I walk every day for 30 mts/approx 3 km. obviously I am not satisfied as I want to reduce my medicine and at the same time keep my sugar level at least around normal pls help and oblige.

Hello, Thanks for the query. I have gone through the details given. Your fasting and PP glucose levels are quite good, suggesting very good control at your age. There is no mention of HbA1c%, which I am suure is also quite good. Should ideally be < 7%. You are already on quite a few drugs, so to reduce the glucose levels further only option is to look at the other two aspects that is total daily caloric intake, particulaly the carbs(more particularly simple carbs) and secondly the total time spent on burning the extra glucose that is daily exercise. So you can look at changing the composition of your diet by adding a lot more green leafy vegetables & salads in place of some of those carbs. That will definitely help in reducing blood glucose.
