Hello doctor I am 20 years old female. I feel like I am suffering from fatty liver problem because I have gastric issues I mean gas issues, also my region above my stomach appears to be outwards these days, just like belly fat it seemed as if fat is there too it's bulging out. Also, I was vomiting one week back when I ate normal food and also I had nose bleeding once while vomiting. Because of these things I have been following proper schedule of diet and exercise, to cure this problem naturally, however I want to clarify one thing from you doctors who obviously know a lot about these things. Is hepatitis c related with fatty liver? I have never had sexual contact too for the past nine months and also I have never been indulging myself in habits of alcohol or drugs. Also I notice weird rash like things on my thighs which itch usually at night, my private part also feels itchy most of the time these days especially at night. Please help me I am tensed because of this.

Hi lybrate-user, first of all I want to inform you a simple distension of abdomen, gastrouble or belly fat are not a confirmed symptoms of fatty liver. You should go for a usg abdomen to confirm it. You can also check sgot and sgpt in your blood. Raised levels are indicative of fatty liver. But it is good to continue with your diet restrictions and exercises. Good that you are not using alcohol and drugs. Keep it up. Itching in private parts and thighs might be ring worm (even though there is 'worm' it had no relationship with worms, it is a fungal infection) infection. Ring worm infection causes characteristic ring like patches with normal skin in centre and redness in round pattern, with glozzy fluorescent appearances, sometimes peeling of skin etc. Itching in evening, night, sweating times etc are also characteristic. Please consult your nearby doctor. No need to get tensed. Â
