Hello, Thanks for the query. TSH 10.822 mU/L is suggestive of hypothyroidism. So treatment with Levothyroxine (Thyronorm) is needed. Only thing is correct dosage should be taken, which is based on body weight, height and T4 levels. So I am not sure whether 100 mcg is required or not. Once the treatment is begun, then TSH should be checked after 6 weeks to see if desired level of TSH is achieved. (3 to 4 mU/L), at which all the symptoms are in check. The prescribing doctor must have already told her about varous precautions to be taken which include: 1) Taking the tablets on empty stomach early morning and nothing should be taken after that for at least 1 to 1 and half hour. 2) To avoid soy beans and soy containing foods, 3) To increase the intake of green leafy vegetables, salads and fruits. 4) To always use whole grain flour for roti and chapati. 5) Avoid bakery items, pastries and foods made from maida. 6) Exercise regularly for 1 hour a day. Thanks.
