Hi, I am suffering from a high pulse, and my ECG is showing Sinus Tachycardia. I am 29. I have hypertension and I am on BP medication. My BP is around 150/90 approx. I feel really breathless while Climbing stairs or if I walk for a bit long. I also get slight chest pain at times but that generally goes away in seconds. Do you think I am suffering from any heart disease or its just a gastric problem? Also, am I at a risk of any heart attack?

Hello dear Lybrate user, There are many reasons behind hypertension, breathlessness and sinus tachycardia according to Ayurveda. These are just the symptoms. Stress, anemia, abdominal tumors (non cancerous), deficiency of vital vitamins and minerals, rheumatological factors, hereditary factors, slow metabolism, a few cardiac problems are a few common causes. There can be some other reasons too. Don't panic at all. Take nutritious diet rich in folic acid, magnesium, Vitamin B12 and iron like spinach, beetroot, oranges, Indian gooseberry, raisins, munakka, fresh dates, fruit juices and vegetable soups, salad, carrots, apples, pomegranate, lemon (alkaline) etc. Atleast 2-3 types of fruits daily before meals. Avoid stimulants like coffee and avoid harmful citrus products like vinegar, tamarind, pickles. Do anulom- vilom pranayam daily slowly for 5 minutes to 20 minutes and sheetali/ sheetkari pranayam and Ardh Pavan Muktasan. But further specific cause behind your existing symptoms is necessary to rule out proper diagnosis and treatment.
