Dear Lybrateuser, -to prevent constipation follow some measures: - have a diet rich in fibre containing foods like fruits, vegetables including green leafy ones, whole grains instead of refined ones, beans, lentils, sprouts, peas, nuts, figs, avoid fried, spicy & junk foods - have plenty of oral fluids including 8-10 glasses of water per day for proper hydration and digestion -can have 1-2 cups of green tea it doesn't help much in constipation - mix a tablespoon full of isabgol powder in a glass of warm water & have once in the morning & once at night before bedtime - do regular exercise like walking or jogging or cycling or yoga for proper digestion - keep stress levels low by meditation.
