Hello, thanks for the query. Hello, I have seen the details mentioned. From the information it is clear that you have uncontrolled hypothyroidism and hyperprolactinimia. Usually if hypothyroidism is present there is every possibility of having raised prolactin level. In the details given there is no way to know since when you have been on treatment with levothyroxine 50 mcg and the tsh level mentioned was checked when. Usually after initiating the treatment with adequate dosage of levothyroxine it is essential to check thyroid profile after 6 weeks to see if the dosage given is adequate. As regards "what to avoid" a patient of hypothyroid should avoid soy containing food products. Plus better to avoid bakery items, deep fried foods, sweetened aerated drinks (colas), sweets and junk foods. Plus regular exercise is necessary to maintain proper weight. In your case with a bmi (body mass index) of 29.68 kg (normal < 23 kg/sq meter) you are almost in grade 1 obesity, with an excess of almost 17 kg. In a well controlled hypothyroid patient tsh is maintained around 3 to 4 mu/l & t3, t4 are in normal range. That will also help in controlling prolactin. It appears the dosage is not adequate. If you have any questions please do come back, preferably in a private conversation so that I will be able to advise specifically and prescribe the required medication. It is also necessary to check your lipid profile as hypothyroidism upsets lipids also. Thanks.
