45 yrs. Taking thyronorm 25 since 5 yrs. My last tsh was 2.5.should I take tab or can I stop.

Hello, thanks for the query. Madam, by now you must have come to know that hypothyroidism is a hormone (thyroxine) deficiency disorder. This happens because your thyroid gland is unable to produce required quantity of that hormone. Since it is needed for many vital metabolic activities in our body plus for normal functioning of brain, hence needs to be supplemented every day (24 hours). Therefore, one has to take the supplementation for lifetime. Your tsh is within normal limit because of the dosage that you are taking. If that is stopped, then all the symptoms will reappear.
