Hello, thanks for the query. The glucose levels mentioned are much higher than those recommended. Because in a well controlled diabetes patien fbg should be < 100 mg or closer to 100 mg & pp 150 to 170 mg & hba1c% < 6.5%. Therefore, there is a need to upgrade the treatment. That needs to look at weight, height, extent of daily exercise dietary pattern, lipid profile and bp readings. Only after going through those details any suggestions or recommendations can be made. Thanks.

Mr. lybrate-user you definitely need to change the treatment plan. Your sugars are raised. Tablet is not enough to keep your sugars in check. Fbs should be upto 110 and pmbs upto 140.

130 and pp > 180) and if your hba1c is more than 8 % seek a consultation online to adjust your anti-diabetic drugs regards, professor m s seshadri." mednames="">Dear lybrate-user, I find that you are quite overweight for your height of 5'8" the correct weight would be about 75 kg and you need to reduce about 10 kg by diet and exercise. This will get your sugars under much better control. I suggest the following reduce the quantity of carbohydrate (rice, wheat, rava, maida) in each meal and increase the quantity of protein (dhal, soya, egg white, fish or chicken). Take lot of green leafy vegetables walk 5 km per day and gradually reduce weight by 1 kg per month to ideal body weight (height in cm minus 100 will roughly be your ideal body weight in kg) about 75 kg. Monitor blood sugars with glucometer as follows. Fasting and pp on wednesday and 2 hour after lunch and after dinner on sunday and maintain a record. If in spite of dietary adjustment your sugar levels continue to be high (fasting > 130 and pp > 180) and if your hba1c is more than 8 % seek a consultation online to adjust your anti-diabetic drugs
