I want to ask about my brother in feb month he was suffered from stroke and left side was majorly imfaulted due to this stroke now his right side is paralysed n he can not even sit by himself he is taking steroid 500 mg, levipil 500 mg, ecosprin 75 mg n ceftum 500 mg from last 1-2 months pls suggest me any other medicine which can recover him from his paralytical condition.

Hi lybrate-user, I am a neurosurgeon. I would like to know if there is any movement in any of his limbs and the cause of his stroke. Brain cells, unlike other cells in the body will not regenerate once it is damaged. So recovery of movements depend mainly on the extend of damage the brain suffered at the time of stroke. Unfortunately there are no magical drug that will cause new brain cells to form instead of damaged ones. What we can do is to put him on aggressive physiotherapy to facilitate or stimulate the brain for better recovery. Hyperbaric oxygen helps in some cases. Thanks.
