Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query. Hypothyroidism is a hormone (thyroxine) deficiency disorder, where your thyroid gland is either not producing enough thyroxine (t4) or does not produce it at all. Therefore there is a need to give daily supplementation of this hormone for life time. There is no other option at all. One can not give "injectable" thyroxine as there is none. One has to take adequate amount of levothyroxine and maintain tsh around 3 to 4 mu/l, so that all the symptoms are in control. If you have any question please do come back. Thanks.
