Hello, I am suffering from Hypothyroidism. I take thyronorm 50 mg every morning empty stomach. My TSH level is now 2.9. Should I stop taking medicine? Also I feel weakness in knees. Is it due to thyronorm tablet, if yes then please advise what should I do?

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. TSH is 2.9 mU/L, is with in normal limit, because you are taking the thyroxine tablets. If stopped, then TSH will go up and all the symptoms of the condition will be back. Thyroxine tablets usually do not cause any side-effects Feeling of weakness and knee pain are not due to tablet but due to hypothyroidism itself. Treatment if foe lifetime. Thanks.
