Lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. When one is treatment with adequate dosage of Levothyroxine, TSH is brought down to around 3 to 4 mU/L, at that level all the symptoms are in check. TSH level of 13.5 mU/L is suggestive that current dosage is inadequate. It is necessary to increase the dose to 25 mcg initially then check TSH again after 6 weeks. If desired level is reached, then same dose should be continued. If not then another increase of about 12.5 mcg should be made and TSH should be checked after 6 weeks. Once the level is standardized, same dose should be continued. Both brands are same. Thanks.

Since the TSH is high it needs proper correction. Please check if you are taking the medicines regularly. It is also important for you to adapt a healthy lifestyle which can help the body to adjust naturally and thereby help in controlling the fluctuations. You can discuss with your doctor and go for regular health check ups. You can also add Homeopathy which is safe and does not interfere with the current treatment. It will enhance the natural healing mechanism (to recovery faster ). You can contact me for a detailed consultation.
