I am having BP since 2008 and taking medicine on regular basis Stemilo 25. Since last 9 year I was regularly monitoring it and its always in range last night it was 140/110 it was suddenly shoot up due to some family stress taken complete rest and in the morning now it is 118/82. Sir do I need to change medicine and any suggestion for keeping it under control I am regular moderate alcoholic drinker too.

1) A BP of 140/110 is very high so you need to change medication, it will be better to consult a cardiologist for detailed evaluation which should include, ecg, echo, lipid profile, renal function test and TMT and change of your treatment. 2) Sir you need to quit drinking or at least reduce it to the recommended safe levels because drinking leads to increase in cholesterol which leads to hardening of blood arteries due to cholesterol deposition and hence rise in BP. 3) Also daily exercise of 40 mins is essential for good BP control. 4) Diet change to a DASH diet which is essentially increase of fruits, vegetables, sprouts and curd in diet and reduction of salt and high sugar food.
