Hi lybrate-user I am not sure what was the pathology report after you were operated. But after colon cancer surgery you need regular follow up to detect if the tumor has come back or any new tumor has formed. Initial follow up is every 3 to 6 months for 2 years and then yearly for next 5 years. Blood tests, physical exam and ct scan also has to be done. Contact a Colorectal surgeon or talk to your surgeon who had operated upon you.

Having colorectal cancer at such a young age indicates familial tendency. Regular follow up with colonoscopy, blood test and imaging is required. After 5 years chances of disease coming back decrease but the chances of new cancer may be there. You can follow a normal balanced diet, no problem. Don't let your weight increase more than normal lomits. Some leg pain due to chemo may be there after so many years, for that continue to do regular exercise and physiotherapy.
