Namaskar!

Mai hun Dr, Shaurya Rohatgi. Mai Mumbai mein practice karta hun aur main ek skin specialist hun. Mai baat karunga hairfall yani ki balon ke jhadne ki takleef ke baare mein. Balon ke jhadne ke bahut saare kaaran hote hain.

Oiling karna completely useless hai. Oiling ka koi bhi upyog nahi hota hai. Aam tor par purushon mein hairfall ka sabse common kaaran male pattern baldness yani ki Androgenic alopecia hota hai jise hum samanya rup mein taklapan kehte hain. Iska proper treatment kiya ja sakta hai aur baal wapas lae ja sakte hain. Mahilaon mein hair loss pattern baldness ke kaaran bhi ho sakta hai aur dusre kaaran bhi ho sakte hain. Hair loss ka treatment karne se pehle uska kaaran dhundna bahut zaroori hai. Kaaran yani ki diagnosis karne ke baad hi hum hairfall ka sahi treatment kar sakte hain. Internet pe padh ke ya phir dosto se pooch ke treatment na karein. Sahi treatment karna hi samajhdari hai.

Purushon or mahilaon mein pattern baldness ka naya treatment hai PRP jise hum platelet rich plasma therapy kehte hain. Is treatment mein hum patients se 10-15 ml blood nikalte hain. Usko centrifuge karte hain. Platelets concentrate karte hain jisko hum platelet rich plasma kehte hain. Isme koi foreign substance nahi milaya jata hai. Ye patient ka apna plasma hota hai jisko hum scalp mein inject karte hain. Isse density Kafi acchi increase hoti hai aur uske sath sath pattern baldness ka medical treatment bhi kiya jata hai jo ki bahut zaroori hai, Iske baare mein aur jankari ke liye aur hairfall ke treatment ke liye mujhe Lybrate par sampark karein.

Namaskar!

Main hun Dr. Shaurya Rohatgi. Main ek charm rog visheshagya yani ki skin specialist hun or Mumbai shahar mein practice karta hun. Aaj hum baat karenge keel aur muhaso ki takleef ke baare mein jise hum Acne kehtte hain. Yeh takleef na sirf 13-19 saal ke ladke aur ladkiyon mein hoti hai. Yeh uske baad bhi adult age 30-35 saal aur se bhi aage mei ho sakti hai. Muhasu ka hona ek skin ki takleef hone ke sath sath mansik roop se bhi ek vyakti ko kamzor banati hai aur uske atmavishwas ko affect karta hai. Sabse pehle hum baat karenge Acne se judi hui sari galatfemiya yani ki misconceptions or myths jo Acne ke baare mein alag alag madhyam se hum tak pahunchte hain specially Internet se jo hum tak pahunch gaye hain.

Kisi bhi tarah ki creams jo aap ke rishtedar, dost ya phir internet pe ya phir internet ke adds ke dwara aap tak pahunchte hain unko kabhi bhi apne se istamal nahi karna chahiye. Sabse jyada khatarnak aise creams hote hain jin mei steroids mix kiya hua hota hai. Ye gora hone ke liye aur doosre karano se jo log inko istemal karte hain, under peer pressure karte hain, logo ki advice pe istemal karte hain. In ka istemal bilkul bhi nahi karna chahiye. Iske alawa log tarah tarah ke videos aur salah pe self-treatment yani ki home remedies karte hain. For example- toothpaste lagana face ke upar, nimbu ka ras lagana face ke upar, garlic lagana, multani mitti lagana, face packs lagana, parlour mein ja kar clean-up wagera alag alag cosmetic procedures karna.

Yeh sab karne se chamdi kharab hoti hai. Pimples badh sakte hain aur permanent damage bhi ho sakta hai skin ke upar. In sab galat treatments ki wajah se acne or pimples badh sakte hain. Pimples badhne ki wajah se scars and marks ki matra face pe badh sakti hai. Acne ka treatment kafi simple hota hai. Cream, face wash or tablet se acne ka nidhan paya ja sakta hai. Jin logon ko pimples ke kaaran scars ya marks hote hain specially jo log apne haathon se fodte hai, unn scars ka bhi treatment kiya ja sakta hai laser ke dwara. Apne pimple se related takleef ke nidhan ke liye mujhe lybrate par sampark karein.

Dhanyavad!

Hello! This is Dr. Shaurya Rohatgi, practicing dermatologist from Andheri West.

A very common question ask to me is about pigmentation and darkness. Many patients do the mistake of self-treatment of pigmentation based on the advice of chemist or friends. This can be very dangerous as they end up buying steroid containing skin lightening creams. This not only causes steroid addiction but can also lead to numerous side effects which can result in steroid damage face. Pigmentation is a common problem with many causes. The cause of pigmentation can be determined with simple clinical examination and can be treated scientifically under the care of skin experts.

Most commonly people suffer from tanning, acanthosis or melisma. Apart from creams and tablets other modalities of treatment like chemical peels and mesotherapy can give good reduction and clearance of pigmentation. Please refrain from self-treatment and quackery at the behalf of chemist and friends. Please make an appointment with me on lybrate.com.

Hello! This is Dr. Shaurya Rohatgi, consultant dermatologist and hair transplant surgeon from Mumbai.

I will be addressing the various myths that are associated with hair transplant which creates a lot of confusion and fears in the minds of patients. Firstly hair transplant is just a re-arrangement of hair from the back to the front of the scalp which is effected with baldness and loss of hairline. Earlier techniques required cutting and suturing which would create an ugly scar at the back of the scalp. The latest FUE technique which we use is safe done under local anesthesia and is a scarless procedure.

We simply extract hair from the back of the hair which are called follicular units and implant them to the front thus creating a new hairline in a balding patient. Hence this procedure is called Follicular Unit Extraction. There are no cuts, sutures and bleeding are minimal. Since this is a minor surgery post-procedure period is comfortable, painless and the patient can resume work shortly. To get back to youthful look say no to baldness and say yes to hair transplant please make an appointment with me at lybrate.com.

Hello I’m Dr. Shaurya Rohatgi, practicing dermatologist in Andheri West Mumbai.

I will be talking to you about platelet rich plasma therapy also called as PRP. This is the latest treatment for hair loss and can be used in impairing baldness in both men and women. A small amount of patient’s blood is collected, processed and centrifuged to make platelet rich plasma. No external agents are added thus making it free from chemicals and preservatives.

Platelets upon entry into the scalp releases a lot of growth factors which helps in reducing the hair loss at the same time also encourages new hair growth. This can be done at monthly intervals. And 6-8 sittings can give phenomenal results in cases of pattern baldness and other causes of hair loss. For more information please make an appointment with me from lybrate.com.

Treatment for Patterned Baldness

Hello. I am Dr. Shaurya Rohatgi. Practicing dermatologist and hair transplant surgeon in Mumbai. I will be talking about male Pattern Baldness, which is the most common cause of hair loss in men. Male Pattern Baldness which also called Androgen etic alopecia has nothing to do with water, change of place, or neutrional deficiencies. This happens due to the effect of DHT on the hair follicles which result in miniaturization. This means the hair on the front end on the crown area of the head initially start reducing its density, the hair line starts receding and the hairs are progressively lost over a period of time. This may not always be genetic and can happen at any age after 20. Females can also be affected by the pattern hair loss. We follow US FDA approved treatment for pattern baldness. Recent advances such as platelet Rich Plasma therapy that is PRP, Mesotherapy and micro needling can help getting faster results. Hair transplant is indicated only when the hair line is completely receded or in advance cases of baldness. We are doing hair transplant with the latest FUE technique. Causes of Recurrent Fungal Infection

Hello. I am Dr. Shaurya Rohatgi. Practicing dermatologist in Mumbai. I will be talking about fungal infections, which is a very common problem in today’s time. Although it can affect any part of the body but most commonly if affects the private parts, such as inner thighs, grime, and buttock area. The treatment of fungal infection is very simple. We have to prescribe anti-fungal drugs for 4 to 6 weeks following which it resolves. These days fungal infection has become a chronic and recreant problem. It initially subside with treatment only to reoccur back after a due days. The most common reason for reoccurrence of fungal infection is the use of steroid containing combination creams. These creams are available over the counter and are also used on the advice of local chemist or relatives. Please do not use such steroid containing combination creams such as pandom, Quandrium, betnovate, candidB. Hazole, ZoleF, Dermifive. Failure to follow up and use of cheap generic anti-fungal drugs is another cause of reoccurrence disease. If you follow the dermatology advice carefully and follow up regularly on time fungal infection can easily be cured.

Laser Skin Resurfacing Treatments

Hello, I’m Dr. Shaurya Rohatgi, practicing dermatologist in Mumbai. Today I will be talking about the various indications of laser treatment in dermatology.

One of the most common indications of laser is for the treatment of acne scars. Acne is a very common problem faced by most teenagers, and even adults up till the age of 30. Acne can sometimes leave behind marks and scars which can have a detrimental effect on a person’s confidence and self-esteem. There are many ways to treat acne scars, but the most effective way is fractional carbon dioxide laser resurfacing. Nothing comes close to this mode of treatment when we talk about acne scars. A few sittings of carbon dioxide laser resurfacing can give phenomenal results in the appearance of the acne scars. Carbon dioxide laser can also improve the pores and oiliness of the skin.

In addition, it can also be used for reversing the effects of age on the face, that is, as an anti-aging treatment. Other methods are also available to treat acne scars, such as chemical peels or micro needling with derma pen or derma roller. Chemical peel is a time-tested and well-established mode of treatment for active acne, pigmentation left behind by heled pimples and to some extent, acne scars. It can also improve your skin tone and effects of sun damage on the skin.

Excessive or unwanted hair is a very common problem faced by both men and women in today’s time, and they don’t want to waste time in shaving or waxing. This brings me to the second most common indication for laser, that is, hair reduction. We have a laser called diode laser, which is the most advanced technology for laser hair reduction. This laser can reduce excess or unwanted hair on any part of the body. This procedure requires no anesthetic, is absolutely painless, and has no downtime. Lasers can also be used for tattoo removal. A Yag laser is the latest technology by which we can remove tattoos of any size or color on any part of the body. This procedure requires no anesthesia, and has no risk of ugly scars following surgical tattoo removal.

UV Rays - How The Radiation Affects Your Skin?

MBBS, MD - Dermatology , Venereology & Leprosy
Dermatologist, Mumbai
UV Rays - How The Radiation Affects Your Skin?

In limited quantities, ultraviolet rays are not only beneficial but also necessary for maintaining proper health. The Vitamin D from the sun’s rays can help cure several diseases such as eczema, jaundice and psoriasis. If adequate amounts of sun rays are not received by the body, bone growth gets hampered that can result in osteoporosis and other bone weakness issues. However, if it is received in abundance, its’ effects can be profusely detrimental to the immune system, eyes and the skin.

Since skin tanning and sun-bathing have become increasingly popular among the mass, it is necessary for people to be more aware of the potential risks of sun exposure.

  1. "Erythema" or sunburn is a very common condition among fair skinned people, which occurs when the skin absorbs energy from the sun’s rays. The system detects it as a harmful, intrusive force and thereby signals for extra blood to reach the affected area and restore the skin. It results in pain, swelling, blistering, itching and peeling of the skin. Not only is it a painful condition, it can also be a precursor to even more harmful diseases.
  2. Skin cancer cases are steadily on the rise in the world, with 5 new such cases being reported every week. Due to prolonged exposure to harsh UV rays, the number of damaged cells in the body increases to such an extent that the system cannot mend it anymore. When not controlled, these damaged cells multiply, grow or divide uncontrollably. These cells can also accumulate and form a tumor.
  3. Repeated and prolonged exposure to sun rays can also cause premature aging and wrinkling due to the degenerative damages it does to the skin’s epidermis.
  4. If one is vulnerable to sunburn, it is recommended for them to carry sunscreen at all times. The UV rays are blocked by the deflecting properties of sunscreens, thereby protecting the skin to a large degree.
  5. It is recommended for patients to carry umbrellas, or protective clothing to cover themselves up if they are vulnerable to harsh sun’s rays in the morning.
  6. Although sun exposure can cause several problems to our skin, with proper precautions, one can be assured of safety. Sun exposure can be properly managed if one remembers to make use of these simple tips daily.

Laser Skin Tightening - Which All Areas Of Your Body Can Be Treated?

Laser Skin Tightening - Which All Areas Of Your Body Can Be Treated?

Ageing is an irreversible process of human existence. With ageing, your skin will start to show problems and one of them would be the loosening or sagging of skin. While there are many treatments available to counter this problem, one of the most effective and popular methods is laser skin tightening.

In this method, a focused beam of infrared light is used to heat up the collagen under the skin. This triggers collagen growth resulting in the skin becoming tighter, thus, reduces  sagging, wrinkles, lines and other blemishes in the process.

Who can go for laser skin tightening?

Laser skin tightening is targeted towards both men and women of any age. Most of the candidates who avail of laser skin tightening are within the age range of 30 to 60 years and have common complaints about skin caused due to age. Some of the problems that laser skin tightening can deal with very well are mentioned as follows:

  1. Tightening and repairing loose facial skin

  2. Reducing fine lines all over the body

  3. Reducing wrinkles all over the body

However, you should know that laser skin tightening will not be able to correct loose facial skin if they form jowls or droopy sacs. In such cases you may need to avail of other surgeries, such as a face lift to correct the laxity of facial skin. You can then follow it up with laser skin tightening to eliminate the remaining wrinkles or lines.

Which of the areas of the body can be treated by laser skin tightening?

This form of treatment has been found to be very effective with skin from all over the body. Some of the areas which can be treated are

  1. Abdomen

  2. Legs

  3. Arms

  4. Face

  5. Buttocks

  6. Neck among others

Laser skin tightening can treat even moderate amount of laxity in all of these areas, thus reducing the need to go for more invasive types of surgery such as tummy tuck surgery or even liposuction.

When would laser skin tightening not be applicable?

Laser skin tightening is a very commonly availed procedure all around the world and there are very few risks usually associated with it. However, it is not advisable in certain circumstances:

  1. If one is prone to having herpes outbreaks

  2. If anyone has suffered or is currently suffering from skin cancer

  3. It is not recommended for pregnant women either

Everything You Need To Know About Glycolic Peels (Chemical Peels)!

MBBS, MD - Dermatology , Venereology & Leprosy
Dermatologist, Mumbai
Everything You Need To Know About Glycolic Peels (Chemical Peels)!

A glycolic peel is a form of chemical peel that is widely used to deal with an array of skin conditions such as age spots, wrinkles, acne, tone, skin discoloration, etc. It has gained popularity in the past few years due to its unique ability to deal with a varied skin condition in a short time span. Glycolic peel requires successive session from ranging from half an hour to forty-five minutes depending on the requirement of the skin.

How does the peel work?
A glycolic peel is basically a form of glycolic acid. It is a translucent compound which is abundantly available in nature in the form of unripe grapes, cane sugar, and sugar beets. Being an alpha hydroxy acid, glycolic acid has many medical uses. Since the molecules of the glycolic acids are tinier than AHA, it can easily break into the deepest layer of the skin and fix issues that chemical treatments can’t. The best part is the fact that it is a natural promoter of skin regeneration and remover of dead, unwanted skin from the pores. It thereby improves the skin texture by forming collagen. Being anti-oxidic in nature, glycolic peels can strengthen capillaries, retain moisture and guard the skin against inflammation.

Which skin problems can glycolic peels guard against?

Glycolic peels can guard against aging, uneven texture, irregular pigmentation, moderate acne, fine lines, acne, age spots, superficial scarring, dark spots, discoloration in fair skin, etc.

Who can perform this treatment?
It requires a qualified doctor or a qualified medical aesthetician. Since the peels are acidic in nature, treatments under the wrong hand can do more harm than good. It requires an experienced hand to perform this treatment.

When is Glycolic acid peel applicable?
For this to be true, a skin consultation is required. An aesthetics take a call based on the type and color of the skin. Not everybody is a good candidate for this form of treatment. If an individual is undertaking Accutane, it is advised that she refrains from glycolic peels for at least six months to avoid unwanted skin injury.

What needs to be done after the treatment?
Glycolic peel treatment span across many sitting. In the initial few sitting, the skin might feel irritation, reddish and sensitive. Repeated sitting can help to get over this sort of symptoms as one gradually gets used to it. Post the treatment, not too many needs to be done by an individual. Care should be taken to ensure that the skin doesn’t get exposed to the sun too much. The UV rays of the sun can immensely damage the skin. At times, the skin might become a little flaky. This phenomenon is also known as frosting. Avoid flakiness to cut down skin irritation. In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!

PRP Treatment For Hair Fall And Skin Rejuvenation!

MBBS, MD - Dermatology , Venereology & Leprosy
Dermatologist, Mumbai
PRP Treatment For Hair Fall And Skin Rejuvenation!

PRP is a latest, state of the art technology that employs non-surgical methods to stimulate hair growth in case of hair loss. Advancements in research have enabled scientists to make new inroads in the field of wound and tissue healing. The result of these researches is PRP, which is a natural way to rejuvenate your scalp, skin and stimulate your hair growth.

How does PRP work?
The presence of mesenchymal stem cells and autologous blood products in human blood contain specific growth factors that assist in tissue regeneration and healing. PRP has been used to heal skin and wounds for over two decades now. Apart from this it finds use in oral surgery, cosmetic surgery and neurosurgery as well. It is also the promising treatment to promote hair growth.

Benefits:

  1. It is a progressive healing treatment that doesn't require surgery.
  2. Simple, rapid and highly effective system.
  3. Autologous (from patient's own blood).
  4. The system is biocompatible and xeno-free, so there shouldn't be any safety concerns.
  5. Increase in the concentration of platelets can be observed.
  6. It helps in the elimination of undesired erythrocytes, which significantly decrease the fibroblast proliferation.
  7. Contains growth factors that help in the stimulation of growth of the hair follicles.
  8. Can be performed preoperatively, intraoperatively, or post operatively.

The Science of PRP
There are special cells called platelets used in PRP, that have been theoretically proved to stimulate hair follicles growth by stimulating stem cells and other important cells in the ecosystem of the follicles. They are instrumental in promoting the healing ability and regeneration of cells, formation of new cells and response to injury. PRP stimulates inactive or newly implanted hair follicles, and makes them active by inducing them into a growth phase.

Platelets are known to contain various structures, which are crucial for blood clotting and cell regeneration, and are released during the repair process by the body. Some of these structures are: glycogen, alpha granules and lysosomes.

Who should not go for PRP Treatment?

Those with heavy drug and smoking issue should avoid PRP. Also those who drink a lot of alcohol should avoid PRP. Those suffering from platelets related ailments, sepsis, chronic liver disease, thrombocytopenia, hyperfibrinogenemia, systemic disorders and cancer should also stay away from PRP.

Conclusion

At length, PRP is a boon for all those who aren't fans of surgery or the ones who prefer a more aggressive but non-surgical approach for treatment to their ailments. The results might vary from patient to patient, but it is certainly one of the most promising technologies to stimulate hair growth and rejuvenate your skin, and the results are quite convincing. So decide wisely!

You are suffering from androgenic alopecia which is also called as pattern baldness. The hairs start reducing in density at the crown (top) and also the hairline starts receeding from the front. This is usually progressive throughout life unless treated. It is usually accompanied by severe dandruff which we call seborrhoea. The FDA approved treatment for this condition is the best. No oil or cream will magically work because the hairs are getting miniaturised and eventually disappearing due to the hormonal effects of DHT on the hair roots. Please call me or contact me with photos using online consult option for proper examination and treatment. Do not start treatment without consulting. I can give guidance and then you can continue treatment on your own.

I'm 33 year old suddenly my few hair have become white I'm confuse it's normal age factor or something else.
Greying of hair is a normal aging process which starts around 30 as the melanocytes activity of the body slows down and gradually the melanin production in hair stops. If it is happening before this age, it is called premature greying. This can be genetic and also due to deficiency of essential vitamins and minerals. You can delay the process of greying of hair by some lifestyle modifications. Take adequate sleep and drink lots of water, eat lots of fruits and green leafy vegetables. Few tablets can also be prescribed for the same. There is also one lotion which is supposed to work. You can call me or contact me using online consult option with photos for detailed prescription.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy For Hair Loss - Is It Right For You?

If there is one thing that men and women dread the most, it is hair loss and hair fall problems. In the last decade or so, the number of young men and women suffering from severe hair loss is quite alarming. The hair fall, which may be an outcome of stress, anxiety, hormonal imbalance, genetics, medical conditions, unhealthy habits, poor diet or lack of a proper hair care routine, can make life miserable and embarrassing. People try out every possible treatment to deal with the problem. In this regard, the PRP or the Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy comes as a revelation.

The Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy is a path-breaking, nonsurgical and natural option that treats the conditions of severe hair loss through hair, scalp, and skin simulations, as per the requirements. The procedure for PRP are as follows:

  • The plasma contains the platelets. The platelets are important as they not only heal but also helps in regeneration of the damaged tissues.
  • The first step involves extracting the blood of the person undergoing the PRP Therapy.
  • Next step is the centrifugation step. Centrifugation helps to obtain the platelet rich plasma (which gets separated from the blood during the centrifugation process).
  • The patients are given anesthesia at the scalp (mainly the nerves) to ease the pain.
  • The platelet rich plasma is then carefully injected into the scalp of the patient to initiate the hair restoration.

The PRP therapy channelizes on the fact that the growth factors present in the platelet rich plasma will act as a catalyst, triggering the stimulation and growth of the hair follicles

Some of the growth factors that help in the hair restoration are as follows

  • Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (responsible for the formation of blood vessels).
  • Platelet-Derived Growth Factor (triggers the growth of blood vessels along with cell replication as well as the formation of the skin).
  • Epidermal Growth Factor (involved in the formation of blood vessels and collagen along with the growth and differentiation of the cell).
  • Insulin Like Growth Factor (this growth factor is mainly involved in the regulation of the normal cell physiology).

For better and effective results, the therapy is repeated at every 3 - 4 months interval.

  • As impressive and fruitful as it may sound, the PRP Therapy is a big no for people dealing with certain medical conditions such as cancer, platelet dysfunction syndromes, hypofibrinogenemia, severe and chronic skin problems, severe liver disorders, sepsis, hemodynamic instability, or acute and prolonged infections.
  • People who are into drinking, smoking or drug abuse should also avoid the PRP Therapy.
  • PRP fails to provide the desired results in the case of complete baldness.

Advantages:

  1. The PRP therapy that has benefitted many people worldwide comes with the following advantages
  2. PRP Therapy is non-invasive and natural with a faster recovery.
  3. The Therapy is less time consuming and is quite safe.
