What is hypoglossal nerve. What are symptoms of damaging it. What is treatment. Is there any homeopathic or ayurvedic treatment. My father is suffering from a disease in tongue. Firstly ENT told mouth ulcers then after one ulcer removed he told paralysis in left tongue then after two years he told for biopsy. A famous and senior doctor before one year written the treatment of hypoglossal nerve I have seen his prescription slip. Father take only one month treatment and left and shown to ENT. Actually father is suffering from tongue problem problem from last 7 years if it was cancer then why it didn't spread. Currently he is feeling problems in speaking and eating. Tongue is thick. And there is ulcer at ending point of tongue. Some times it looks like a tumour from out side touching but some time it destroyed. Please suggest what is this.

Hypoglossal nerve is the motor nerve supply to the tongue, damaging the nerve causes paralysis or muscle weakness to that side of the tongue. For your father's illness consult a good ENT surgeon for thorough clinical examination. Hope he will be able to help your father.
