Nd i'm taking 50 mcg (thyronorm medicine. Actually mujhe pregnancy k time hi thyroid detect hua. Maine delivery k baad v dava li. Mera thyrid control me tha. Dose 50 mcg se 12.5 pr agya tha. To meri gyni ne 1 month medicine chor k dekhne o kaha us time mera tsh 2 tha. Maine 2 months medicine chorne k baad test karaya to badha hua aaya. 10 ho gya. Jiske baad mujhe phir se50 mcgdava start krni padi. Mujhe constipation, heavy hair fall ki problem ho gyi h. Mere hatho me baht weakness sa hota h, finger me specially. Vibration sa hota h.mujhe weakness baht rahta h. Kv kv chakkr sa ajata h. Mera bp 100 /-55. K aas pass rahta h .plss suggest me very well. I hope you will treat me very well. Thank you doctors.?

lybrate-user ji, thanks for the query. I have seen the details. Usually when hypothyroidism is detected during pregnancy, in some cases after delivery the thyroid function may return to normal. So it is advised to check tsh after 6 weeks of pregnancy. The treatment is not abruptly stopped. A lower dosage needs to be taken. Then after checking the tsh a final call may be taken. Now that your tsh has increased to 10 mu/l, means there is a need to restart the treatment. You have mentioned that currently you are on 50 mcg dosage. However, that is not adequate dose, there is a need to increase the same to 75 mcg and then check tsh level after six weeks to see if desired levels are achieved. In a well controlled person tsh should be maintained around 3 to 4 mu/l once that happens most of the symptoms will be controlled. If you have any questions please do come back. Thanks.
