I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and have been taking eltroxin 25 mcg daily. I regularly done tsh levels tests 6 months back I checked it and the report shows my thyroid was 3.3. Doctor said that I should continue taking medicine. After that also I regularly taking medicine thyronorm but 4 days back I tested my tsh levels from Doctors lal path labs and even after taking medicine my tsh levels are 7.8. Whats the reason please tell. Moreover im feeling lazy all the time and feeling pain in my bones and gained weight my weight is 63 and height is 5.4. My age is 32 and im unmarried.

Dear lybrate-user, it's a case of hyperthyroidism. I preferably advice you to do ANTI TPO antibody test and Whenever do a Thyroid profile do it on complete empty stomach for 10-12 hours.

Lybrate-user ji, Thanks for the query. I have seen the details. The rise in TSH level suggests that dosage of Levothyroxine being taken is not adequate. It should be increased to either 37.5 mcg or 50 mcg per day. Then TSH should be checked again after 6 weeks. It should be maintained around 3 to 4 mU/L, to remain free from all the symptoms of hypothyroidism. If you have any doubt please do come back. Thanks.
