Hello, my dad is facing lower back pain, he is also weak to walk. Mostly lying on bed. He can talk and eat little normally. Not a complete bed ridden type. Since 15 days he was unable to urinate properly, he had to use little force. Then 4-5 days ago, he had back pain for 3 days, and then fever and weakness. We went to general physician, he gave a muscle relaxant and an antibiotic & crocin. Now there is no fever, little back ache and weakness. He is 66 yrs, male. What cud be reason for weakness. Is this something serious. Whom shud I consult?

It looks like viral fever and along side he also has back pain for sure. For fever please consult general physician for better prognosis. For back pain he can do some hot pack when he starts walking. For urination you need to cleanse the body out of toxins. That is very important, consume barley water for your father. For back pain once the fever subsides then you can get treated for physiotherapy provided he had built his body endurance to undergo the treatment. If you have leg pain then you have to rule out the causes for having leg pain. First of all check your weight and your haemoglobin levels, as anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired and also having leg pain though there are no issues with the knee joint or back pain. If not if the pain radiates down the back of thigh and legs then it might be due to sciatica. Kindly consult the nearby physiotherapist. Hope you recover soon from the leg pain.
