My mother is on medication of thyroid, and taking tab eltroxin 75 mcg od. In recent thyroid test, t3 is 72, t4 is 7.2 and tsh is 7.78 which is higher than normal limit. Please advice.

Hello, Thanks for the query. Looking at the TSH value it is clear that her current dosage of levothyroxine is not adequate. There is a need to increase the dose by at least 12.5 mcg to 87.5 (88 mcg) per day, then check TSH again after 6 weeks to see if desired level (of TSH 3 to 4 mU/L) is achieved.
