I used to take glycomet 3/850 for diabetes and now my sugar levels have come down. Now, can I to switch to glycomet gp 2? What is the difference?
Ask Free Question
Glycomet gp 2 contains glimepiride (2 mg)+ metformin (500 mg) where as glycomet 3/850 cintains glimepiride (3 mg)+ metformin (850 mg) which is more powerful. If your fasting blood sugar is less than 120 and your sugar after food is 160 there is no harm in trying. But your sugars may go up. But if you're having hypoglycemia - blood sugar dropping below 60 at anytime I would recommend you to stop and consult with your doctor before switching.

Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query. I have seen the query. However, it is very general as there is no mention of actual glucose levels like fasting, pp & hba1c%. Without knowing those there is no way to give any advise. Plus it is also necessary to look at dietary intake and extent of daily exercise. Thanks.
