My mom, aged 53, has type 2 diabetes. While fasting, her blood glucose level is 190 and pp remains 200-250. Her weight is more than 60 kgs with height 5 ft1 inch. My query is - will only intake of brown rice, millets (i purchase online, since not available in shops here. I am not sure whether its safe or not) and green veggies help? She also has high bf, fatty liver. She gets hungry frequently. Can you please suggest me a good diet plan (gluten free) and for how long she needs to work out? She is on insulin (morning-8 units, night- 4 units) and also take glycinorm od two times a day. Is there any other way to cure the pancreas naturally?

Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the details given. It is clear that the present treatment is not able to control her blood glucose levels well. Therefore, we need to look at all the aspects of her current therapy like dietary pattern, extent of daily exercise, dosage of current medications, fbg, pp glucose levels and hba1c% (not mentioned), lipid profile, liver function tests (enzyme levels), bp readings, serum creatinine and urea. Therefore my suggestion is please get all the necessary investigations done and come back with detailed reports in a private conversation (paid consultation), so that I will be able to give specific guidelines and prescribe any drugs if needed and upgrade the treatment. Or else please consult your local physician and see that her fbg is maintained around 100 mg or closer to 100 mg, pp 150 to 170 mg & hba1c% <6.5%. This is essential to prevent future complications associated with diabetes if remains uncontrolled. I hope you understand. As regards diet only millets and other grains are not enough. Diet needs to increase almost 50% daily intake in the form of green leafy vegetables and fruits. If you have any questions please do come back. Thanks.Â
