I use the medicine thyronorm 50 mg my tsh is 8.96 is this dose of medicine right? Or not? Though the what dose of medicine is appropriate?

Hello, Thanks for the query. When one is on adequate dosage of Levothyroxine, TSH is maintained around 3 to 4 mU/L, at which most of the symptoms are in check. Therefore, with TSH 8.96 mU/L, there is a need to increase the dosage. Usually increase should be gradual, by 12.5 to 25 mcg per day. Then one has to check the TSH level after 6 weeks to see if desired level is achieved. If you have any questions please do come back. Thanks.
