I am 23 years old. I am depressed. So I consult psychiatrist. He prescribed nexitoplus for 10 days. The message I type now was after ate one tablet. It makes me calm down which I actually need. But it apart from my originality. So I don't want to continue. Can I stop this immediately after 3 to 5 days. Or I need to consult the doctor who prescribed me. Please clarify my doubt. Urgent.

Dear mam Antidepressant medication takes up to 14 days to start showing effect and it has to be continued for a few months depending on how severe your depression is. Stopping them in between can result in your symptoms returning. So I strongly recommend not to stop the medication without consulting your psychiatrist. If you have any concerns regarding the medication discuss them with your psychiatrist before doing the medication. Thanks.

If you stop it on your own You will be back to square one This is not some cold flu medicine this is psychiatric medication it will go on for minimum of 1 year you discontinue it you will have symptoms again Consult with me or any psychologist for therapy and counseling.
