Dear lybrateuser, - Your blood pressure is high for your age - to lower it you have follow a healthy lifestyle - have a salt restricted diet, avoid fried, processed & junk foods, limit tea, coffee to 1-2 cups per day, also avoid pickles, papads, salty fried snacks, alcohol & smoking if you do - have more of fibre containing foods such as fruits, vegetables, legumes, sprouts, a handful of unsalted nuts, low fat milk & dairy, soya products, flax & sesame seeds - do regular exercise like brisk walking, jogging, swimming, play a game to reduce bp - sleep well for at least 6-7 hrs at night, keep your sleep & wake up time fixed - destress by reading, yoga & meditation - reduce weight by diet & exercise - monitor bp regularly & if no significant change in couple of months the you will require medication to lower the level.
