I had 4 months baby girl I took thyroid test during pregnancy doctor prescribed me thyronorm 50 much. Now my TSH level is 3.90.I am not using thyronorm since 5 months. But my thyroid level is 3.90. Should I need to use thyronorm. And how dose please suggest me?

lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. During pregnancy some times hypothyroidism does develop. Following delivery, thyroid function may return to normal. Therefore with TSH 3.9 mU/L, it appears that your thyroid is functioning normally. Hence there is no need for Thyroxine for now. Please check TSH levels once in 6 months if there is any increase, then treatment will be needed. Thanks.

No it is no more required. But you should get your TSH tested every six months and if it rises again you may have to start your medication after consulting you doctor.
