lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. There is no separate or special diet for a diabetes and hypertensive patient. However, everything in moderation is the principle. Few important points to remember are: No sweets, avoid deep fried foods, pastries, bakery items, foods made form maida. Avoid colas, red meat, alcohol and smoking. Reduce salt intake. Increase the intake of green leafy vegetables and salads. Use whole grain flour for roti and chapati. Total intake of calories should be based on ideal body weight, extent of daily exercise and glucose levels. Thanks.
