I am 53 years old. Since 2003 suffering type 2 diabetes. Super level always 250/350 stands. Human mustard insulin 40 iu is continue 16/22 point daily. How my super level will be normal? I am a business man with no hard work. M M Gupta Bhubaneswar.

Thanks for the query. In a well controlled diabetes patient blood glucose levels should be: Fasting <100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c% <6.8. Your blood glucose levels are VERY HIGH. It shows that present treatment is very inadequate. There has to be an up gradation of the treatment. We may have add more dose of insulin or add some other type of insulin in addition to what is being used or also look at the newer drugs which have been recently introduced. So if you are keen on improving the condition please come in a private conversation with following details: current fasting, Pp glucose levels, HbA1c%, dietary patter, extent of physical exercise, lipid profile details, serum creatinine and urea. You need to do regular physical exercise like walking yoga etc. Also control your diet strictly as per advice of your doctor if your blood sugar still remains high he may advise you some medicine or/and increase the dose of insulin.
