I am 31 year old female, 67 weight 5 feet height. My tsh level is 0.04. With doctor prescription I am taking 75 mcg thyronorm tablet. But now a days I am feeling dizziness and weakness. Is it due to high dose of thyronorm.

Daer ma'm, it is possible that the dizziness may be related to the dose, a little titration can be tried to see what suits you. For that a few details are needed. 1. How long since you are being treated? 2. Was the dose recently changed? And a few more. Please consult if you need guidance on the titration. Also, get your blood sugar tested (since you mention you are diabetic). Take care.

Hello, thanks for the query. Madam I have seen the details mentioned. Your tsh 0.04 mu/l is too low, suggesting you have been taking more than required quantity of levothyroxine. This has led to drug induced hyperthyroidism. It would have been better if you had mentioned t3 & t4 levels too. Ideally in a well controlled hypothyroid patient tsh should be maintained around 3 to 4 mu/l. So for the time being reduce the dosage to 50 mcg, then check tsh again after 6 weeks, to see if the desired level is achieved. If you have any questions please do come back. Thanks.

Dear lybrate-user, the tsh value of 0.04 is low, suggesting that we should slightly reduce the dose of thyronorm. I suggest that you reduce the dose to one and a half of 50 ug tab (dose 62. 5ug) daily on empty stomach and recheck free t4 and tsh after 2 months and inform you need to maintain a tsh value of 1-5 uiu/ml regards, Dr. seshadri.
