The dose of folic acid should continue. If periods have become irregular, do get your AMH and FSH levels done and also an USG to asses AFC and also do ovulation monitoring

Hi, continue same dose of thyroid medication if your thyroid profile normal within 3 months. Folic acid will not cause irregular periods. But your age can cause. Recent weight gain can cause. Do amh blood test which will tell your fertility potential. That can also explain your irregular periods. Reduce weight. Meet a fertility expert and get yourself and your husband evaluated. You need to conceive as early as possible. Let me know your amh blood report. Can consult online.
