My son has been taking oral risperidone for the last 12 months. His weight is increasing to 88 kg. How can we stop the med without the fear of relapse. He was diagnosed as depression patient with lonely living and sleeping almost all the time. Please suggest.

How you got diagnosed as depression because depression is diagnose if it covers five criteria like low feeling, negative thoughts, aversion to socialization, weeping tendency, sleeplessness or excessive sleep loss or excessive appetite and this has mostly two reasons, one is due to circumstantial and other assumed stress. For treating it you need both counselings and medication.
