My son is overweight. He is 33 yrs old 5' 8' tall have hypertension since last he was 25 (this is hereditary I had essential hypertension when I was 16detected at the age of 25). He was very slim earlier but turned fat as he started taking atenolol-50 mg. And gaining weight day by day and become obsess. Now he is taking olmesartan medoxomil 20mg. I think this is side effect of the drugs he is taking for control of hypertension. Can this be rverted by changing the drug? please suggest.
