Yes eating bread can increase your weight because it is maida which is carbohydrate. More intake of carbohydrate forms sugar and fat which in turn increases the body weight which has direct relation with diabeties and sugar. If you want to be saved from sugar/diabeties you have to maintain you body weight and do regular exercise and have less of fat and carbohydrates.

Hello, Bread is made of refined wheat flour (Maida) which lacks fibre. Thus it is absorbed faster than whole wheat and gives a lot of energy and increases the blood sugars, so is not ideal for diabetics and weight watchers.However switching to whole wheat bread is a much healthier option. Also 2 slices is the limit and one should have it with lots of vegetables as in sandwitch form for gaining benefits from it.
