Mr Meharaj, There is no specific answer for why you have got this condition, as there are many reasons like iodine deficiency, autoimmune disease (Hashimoto's Thyroiditis), Goitre and also genetic factors.
But if one has hypothyroidism (high TSH), it has to be treated with supplement of thyroxine tablets. This treatment has to be continued for life time. There are no home remedies, that can help in controlling thyroid deficiency. One thing you can do is avoid soy beans, soy containing products, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, radish, mustard, peanuts and coffee. Consume more of green leafy vegetables and salads, fruits, low fat milk products. Also exercise daily for at least 1 hour a day. These things help additionally. But drug treatment is essential.
