Sir I have thyroid aproxx 11 something .doctor prescribes me to take thyronorm tablets. Last three days I have taken tablet .but at the same time I had very very painful gas problem .which is not tolerating .but I had this problem before taking tablet .but not that much painful.

Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the details mentioned. In a well controlled hypothyroidism patient tsh remains in the range of 3 to 4 mu/l, at which level most of the symptoms of that condition are in check. Please understand taking this tablet is the only treatment for controlling hypothyroidism. If you have any questions please do come back. As regards the gaseousness that you have probably is unconnected to levothyroxine tablets. I am sure you are aware that tablet has to be taken early morning on empty stomach, then nothing should be taken for at least 1 hour after. You will have to check tsh again after 6 weeks to see if the desired levels are achieved. Thanks.
