Sir my father aged 55 is diabetic since 2012. He is on metformin 500 mg since then but have irregular medication. His bp is 160/85 and fasting sugar is 160 tested 15 days before. From last 10 days he is having a burning sensation in his foot. Tomorrow he consumed 2 peas (sweet dish prepared by drying milk and adding sugar) and from today morning he is having slight senselessness in his foot. He is also stopped his medication 5 days before. I am worried over his health pls suggest some medication and any need of urgent medical attention.

Hello, Thanks for the query. I have seen the details given. Fasting glucose 160 mg, is high, suggesting uncontrolled diabetes. It is necessary to check after food glucose plus HbA1c% too. BP also is high. Ideally should be 120 to 130 /70 to 80 mm Hg. Burning sensation is suggestive of peripheral neuropathy. To give any suggestions I need to know all the details like FBG, PP glucose, HbA1c%, serum creatinine, urea, lipid profile, dietary pattern, extent of daily exercise.
