I am diabetic since last 20 years and on medication, amryl m1forte in morning and evening, volibo 0.3 mg in morning, pioz 15 in morning and astrovin 20 mg in noon. Sugar level is something ok but sometimes high. Fasting 170 and pp 230. Can I take little insulin with pills .i consulted many doctors ,some prescribe only pills, some pills and insulin. Will the body becomes habitual of insulin if I take for some time. Or I can discontinue insulin when sugar level is ok.

Yes,you can take Insulin alone or with pills.Insulin is not new to your body it is already there, secreted from your Pancreas. So nothing like habit forming or becoming habitual.

Mr Vijay Pal Singh, Thanks for the query. I have seen the details mentioned. Following are may comments and suggestions: 1)Present glucose levels are high, suggesting not very well controlled diabetes. Ideally in a well controlled diabetes fasting glucose is around < 100 mg or closer to 100 mg, PP 150 to1 70 mg & HbA1c% (not mentioned) at your age < 6.8%. 2) There is no mention of weight, height, extent of daily exercise, dietary pattern and details like serum creatinine, urea and lipid profile. 3) Insulin can be taken to bring blood glucose well in control, then one can shit only on to ral drugs. 4) However, if one looks at the diet, weight and exercise intensity, may be glucose levels can be better controlled with present treatment. Thanks.
