For increasing hb, you have to eat iron rich foods: eat lean red meat: this is the best source of easily absorbed heme iron. Eat chicken and fish: these are also good sources of heme iron. Consume vitamin c-rich foods: eat vitamin c-rich foods during meals to increase the absorption of non-heme iron. Iron is also found in many plant-based foods such as: green vegetables, for example spinach, silverbeet and broccoli. Lentils and beans. Nuts and seeds. Grains, for example whole wheat, brown rice and fortified breakfast cereals. Dried fruit. Jaggery pumpkin seeds watermelon, potato, apple, beet root, pomegranate.
