So my frnd she takes tramadol and solphadol pills regularly like everyday, she is saying se is having depression so this pills help her to stay happy it works better for her. But she is like some day take 30 pills she said that to me. And she is taking this pills everyday. I am worried doctor, she is taking this pills from the last 2 years I am super worried. What will happen now, what are the side effects? She is just not stopping to take the pills. Is it harmful doctor? Please help doctor.

Dear lybrate-user, sorry to say that your friend is taking these tablets in a harmful way. Probably she is dependent on those pills also. Usually death occurs due to overdose. Both tramadol and solpadol are opioid painkillers. Withdrawal symptoms are difficult to manage. She needs to be admitted to a hospital or deaddiction centre to do that. I think, she is also only 18 years old. She may be suffering from depressive disorder. She must have been introduced to them 2 years back to manage some pain. Later for happiness, she must be taking them. As a young girl, you can not manage to treat her by yourself. As a good friend, you can take the help of her parents and other family members to know the treatment options available to get her out of this addiction. You can also continue to motivate her about the advantages of staying away from these tablets and also how to be happy with friends, studies, hobbies, etc. All the best. Do it right now before it is too late. Get her parents and admit her. You are not cheating your friend. You are only helping her out for a bright future.

I think your friend may be addicted to opioid since it seems to give her a high or a good feeling and make her stay happy. Taking 30 pills is also an indication of addiction and a cause for concern.
