There also can be rare cases where there is type 2 diabetes due to acute pancreatitis. So to answer your question, if you will maintain proper body weight as per your height and also include half an hour of aerobic exercises per day (walking or yoga) I do not think that you will have to take insulin. You will also need to follow a healthy balanced diet with lots of vegetables and salad and less of carbs like sugar, maida, etc. If you will follow these instructions then surely there will be no need of insulin ever.
