Hi lybrate-user, thyronorm 75 mg. It is primarily used to treat hypothyroidism, a condition where the thyroid gland does not produce sufficient quantities of hormones. It is also used to treat certain other disorders associated with the thyroid gland. But you say you are talking it for hyperthyroidism, it may increase your thyroid hormone level. I suggest you instead of this you can use homoeopathy medicine. We have good homoeopathy medicine it will normalise thyroid hormone within some months without any side effects. So for that you can consult to me.

Dear lybrate-user it is safe for women taking this medicine to breastfeed their babies thyroid hormones pass into breast milk, but in amounts that are too small to affect the nursing baby, or to affect tests for an underactive thyroid in the baby (neonatal hypothyroidism). The amount will not be enough to have an adverse effect on your baby. Equally important, adequate thyroid hormone is necessary for normal lactation and for maintaining a sufficient supply of breastmilk. In fact, without your thyroid medication, you may not be able to breastfeed. For further information and clarification regarding query you can book an appointment for consultation so that I can explain in detail to all your quiers.

Hello, Thanks for the query. To treat hypothyroidism taking levothyroxine in adequate dose is absolutely essential. It is not at all harmful for the breast fed baby. The amount detected is very negligible, does not have any effect on the infant. So you need not worry. But please remember to mintain tsh around 3 to 4 mu/l, for you to remain symptom free. (your condition is hypothyroidism) thanks.

I think there is dicrepancy in your statement because thyronorm is used for hypothyroidism not hyperthyroidism. If you are prescribed the medicine for hypothyroid you can take it without any risk to your infant.
