I am 34 years old male and had swine flu one month back. I am fine now. I got the cbc test done and everything is ok except mchc level which is 31.20. Is it because of iron deficiency? Haemoglobin is 14.30 rbc is 5.27 tlc is 8.4 mcv is 86.9 mch is 27.10 mchc is 31.20 platelets 248 please advice.

You have normal mchc except for a mild decrease in it which shows mild anemia and as explained here the reference ranges for mean corpuscular hemoglobin and mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration are as follows: mch: 27-33 picograms (pg)/cell in adults. Mchc: 33-36 g/dl in adults you have to increase iron in your diet with foods like spinach. Take iron supplements. Get more vitamin b-6, which is necessary for proper absorption of iron. Add more fiber to your diet, which can help improve the intestinal absorption of iron.
